Knock of mega scandal can be heard on the door of Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Punjab department as data of 1. 4 million vehicles could not be scanned.

Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Punjab is facing likely to face a big scandal.
According to sources, the process of document scanning at the time of new registeration and at the time of change of ownership of vehicles in the field offices of the department across Punjab is closed.

This process has ceased due to the expiry of the department’s scanning contract with Mrs A Hampson.

Stopping the process of document scanning has increased the chances of forgery and forgery during vehicle registration and transactions.
According to the sources, Lahore Region C, where Rana Intekhab Hussain is the director, is facing the most problem of not scanning the documents of the vehicles. Documents of 3 lakh 89 thousand vehicles could not be scanned in Lahore till January 16, 2023 and any forgery is most feared.
Similarly, the name of Faisalabad comes at the second place, where Shahid Gilani is the director of the department. In Faisalabad, documents of 107,000 vehicles are waiting to be scanned.
Similarly, 71 thousand in Gujranwala, 70 thousand in Sialkot, 62 thousand in Multan, 54 in DG Khan, 52 thousand in Rahim Yar Khan, 44 thousand in Gujarat, 42 thousand in Rawalpindi, 39 thousand in Bahawalpur, 39 thousand in Bahawalnagar. 33 thousand in Sahiwal,
32 thousand in Sargodha, 29 thousand in Wahari, 28 thousand in Jhang, 25 thousand in Muzaffargarh, 25 thousand in Khanewal, 23 thousand in Jhelum, 23 thousand in Okara, 21 thousand in Khushab, 20 thousand in Chiniot, 20 thousand in Toba Tek Singh. 19 thousand, 17 thousand in Leh, 16 thousand in Mianwali, 15 thousand in Rajanpur, 15 thousand in Lodhran, 14 thousand each in Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Narowal and Pakpattan, 13 thousand in Hafizabad, 10 thousand in Attock, Bhakkar. 10,000 in Sheikhupura, 9,000 in Sheikhupura, 8,000 in Kasur and documents of 7,000 vehicles in Nankana Sahib were not scanned.
It should be noted that in the year 2020, Anti-Corruption Lahore Region registered a case against 16 employees including 5 directors and 2 ETOs of the Excise Department for not scanning the documents of 4,300 vehicles.
